Kiera Donnelly, Isobel Heritage and Laura Mangundhla in Year 9, have entered Barnwood Park into the Junk Kouture 2024 fashion competition. This competition challenges schools to design, up-cycle and create high-end sustainable kouture fashion using recycling. Our school entry is called “Somewhere Beyond the Helium” and is inspired by ocean waste and the impact of foil helium balloons on the environment. Thank you to Miss Oliver for donating the bridesmaid dress as a canvas and thank you to the staff who donated items to be up-cycled. Kiera, Isobel and Laura have worked on this project for a few months, investing their own time after-school and have demonstrated an outstanding work ethic, commitment and dedication. We are incredibly proud of them and wish them all the best with their submission.
