Year 10 DT and Textiles V&A Trip
On 26th June the Year 10 DT and Textiles groups visited the V&A museum in London for their GCSE coursework. We started with a journey on the coach to the Museum and as we arrived the students were astonished by the number of people there. The groups were split into 2 halves. Some went with Miss Cole to look at the 20th Century Design gallery. The students were able to look first hand at innovative designs of the last century. Many of them gained inspiration for their final project around the themes of climate change, storage and games.
Miss Lai's Textiles group looked at fashion through the ages and in different cultures. The students also had a peek at portraits and sculpture in which they saw a life size cast of Michelangelo's David. Miss Lai was amazed at just how BIG the sculpture was. After the visit to the Exhibition students were able to buy an ice cream and take a stroll in the park to see the Albert memorial.
