Since Christmas, the PE department have been taking part in a range of sporting fixtures seeing success in Football, Netball and Cricket. It has been great to see large numbers of students taking part in training since we first started.
The U15 girls football team won the district football tournament beating Ribston, Denmark High School, Crypt, Severn Vale and Churchdown to the trophy.
Barnwood hosted the Lady Taverners U15 indoor cricket tournament for the first time, winning one match, losing the other. A special mention to Jess Owen and Laticia Davis (Yr10).
U13s and U15 boys represented the school in the Lord Taverners Indoor cricket tournament, with wins against Chosen Hill but falling short against Dene Magna and Newent. A special mention to Ben Ansermoz (Yr8) and Kyrese Zymelka (Yr10) who came away with Man of the Match performances.
Boys football results - Y7 won both matches against Gloucester Academy and Henley Bank, Y8 won against Gloucester Academy, Y9 won against Henley Bank and drew against Holmleigh Park and Y10 drew against Holmleigh Park.

Ella-Grace Edwards (Yr11)
Attending national competitions for the indoor 60m sprint - Well done!
Oskar Pigan (Yr9)
Is currently in Spain at a national performance camp for Tennis. This is the same camp that Andy Murry attended when he was Oskar's age. We wish Oskar all the best while he is training in Spain and look forward to seeing what he can achieve in his Tennis career.
McKenzie O'Reilly (Yr8)
Competed in the Swimming Para Winter National in January.
50 freestyle 5 second pb - 10th in the under 14 years category.
100 freestyle 13 second pb - 10th in the under 14 years category.
400 freestyle 1 minute pb - and amazingly 3rd quickest in the under 14 years category.
Following his impressive efforts McKenzie is hoping to be selected for the Welsh National squad in the near future.
Cody Howell (Yr7)
Has been performing to a high standard in Judo. Last term Cody competed at the Worcester Judo Competition with 3 fights, 2 wins and gaining a silver medal for his age group.
Cody will be representing Barnwood School in the British Schools Championships on the 13th March. We wish him all the best.
